Here is your “How To” on running important reports.
Payroll: This is of course important to be correct because it is how you will be paid, making sure employees are clocking in and out at the correct times and also clocking out for breaks will keep your store running efficiently.
Gift Card List: When a customer is using a gift card it can have conflicting totals from Quickbooks if it wasn’t processed correctly. Use the any of the three (3) options given to help complete the transaction and help your customer.
Discount Summary: Your discount summary is an amazing report to keep track of your discounts given for promotions, sales, and your manager discount. Remember, that your “Manager Discount” can only be .5% of your sales! This will also be how you keep track of employees that possibly are abusing the discount options.
Transfer Summary: Your transfer summary will help you keep up with items leaving your store. When running this report you can only see YOUR STORES transfer outs, this will help you catch any employees trying to remove inventory by transferring them to another store. If you need transfer totals from HOME OFFICE, email email@example.com and the same report will be run to show totals sent to YOUR STORE.
Department Summary: This report will show you trends and sales based on departments. This is very important knowledge to share with your team and with Home Office. You will see actual numbers of departments that are selling to see what you ACTUALLY need more of. This is important to communicate, because if you don’t have departments that are selling; you won’t be able to make your goals.
Vendor Summary: This report is even more important then department. This report will let us know what vendors we need to buy more from and who we need to STOP ordering from! Vendors that aren’t moving, have ill fits, and damage easily should not be sold at Lotus Stores, Inc. locations. On the up side, vendors that are moving fast, customers love, and look great on any body shape we need to order more from. This report will keep your store looking great and help lessen your damages at the end of the month.
