Story Telling and Color Schemes

A story can be told that communicates to the customer what your store is all about! It includes presentation of merchandise as well as other important subtle features that create the store’s overall atmosphere. You, as the manager, are in charge of that overall atmosphere.

You want your merchandising to tell a story – which sounds more complicated than it really is. First start by asking which of my customer niches do I want to capitalize on with this rack? After deciding which niche you are going to go after then decide which color scheme you want to use with your rack. From there pull clothing that your customer niche will love, and then stay within your color scheme.

You can always tell stories with themes like Pumpkin Picking, Date Night, Music Festival, Boho-Chic, Cute Mom and other endless themes. The important part to remember is that whatever theme you choose, the clothing needs to reflect that.

By telling a story, you can sell a story.

When picking your color scheme draw inspiration from Pinterest, ColorCombos.com, and any other great color combination you see in life!

These are just examples from ColorCombos.com that could lead to some amazing color schemes for merchandising!
